Our Shed-Building Project

While Justin was gone this summer he designed the shed that we are building in the backyard. It certainly hasn't gone very quickly but it will be cool to say that we built it ourselves. Check it out....Here's Justin making one of the walls.
Two walls up, 2 more to go. These things are heavy!
I know that you must be impressed with the trusses we made, try not to be jealous.
Justin securing the top of the roof. What a man!
We nearly got all the shingles done on this side of the shed over the weekend. We had to stop since they got hot and were burning our skin (not to mention that we had been working on it for about 5 hours straight.

My Hubby is Home

Well, it's official, after 5 long, grueling months of training, he's finally home. We took this picture just before he left and, as usual, haven't taken any pictures since he's been home. We've been busy. In the last 10 days the playhouse has been leveled, all supplies for the upcoming homemade shed have been purchased, he's back to teaching seminary at Olympus HS, and I am finally feeling whole again. Oh and by the way, today is our anniversary. Three wonderful, blissful years.

Ragnar Relay-Wasatch Back

Well, I ran the Ragnar Relay in June. It was a grueling overnight 12-man relay race that spanned about 180 miles from Logan, Utah to Park City, Utah. We each ran 3 different legs of the race, it took us just under 30 hours to complete. It was hard, it was hot, but it was totally amazing. I loved it, even when I thought I was going to pass out from the heat hitting the pavement. Looking forward to doing this next year. Check out the YouTube video that my sis-in-law Tina put together for it.

Going green

Just to stay hip and trendy this summer (since we always are) we bought Justin a scooter to drive around on. It gets about 70 mpg and costs less than $4.00 to fill up. It also goes like 45 mph with the two of us on speed! Pretty awesome, huh? Here are some pics of "Sasha" the scooter and Justin in all his glory.

Well Sarah tagged me a while back and I haven't had a chance to look at it until now...sitting at my desk at work and waiting for a patient to come. See here goes...

3 bad habits:

Life in the fast lane...

So it seems that all of my friends have become avid bloggers. This used to be just a thing for my friends that had children or were expecting, but now I see that Tom has joined the mix and has quite a blog for himself. I feel exceptionally left out and am trying to do better. Since we don't have kids yet, we haven't gotten a handle on how and when to use a camera. Even when we go places I never seem to be able to pull it out or even think to myself, "this is a great photo moment". Nope, that never really comes to mind until the vacation is almost over.

In the beginning...

Having newly discovered the world of blogging, I feel compelled to start my own. And it's not the peer pressure from friends who have their own blogs. It's just that everyone else has one so why shouldn't I. But I'm no conformer, nor am I trying to keep up with the Jones'. I just want to show all our friends the cool things we do that we usually don't take pictures of.
